In the evening it is illuminated by around 70,000* fiber-optic lights that shine in remembrance of the victims. Upon entering the facility grounds, visitors proceed counter-clockwise around the basin (symbolically taking them back to 1945, the year of the atomic bombing). There is also a Q&amp;A feature on radiation and the people and events in the history of medical treatment for radiation illnesses. The Lounge itself is the focal point for the international cooperation and exchange features particular to the Nagasaki Peace Memorial Hall and serves as the venue for public readings and international and peace-related symposiums. In May of each year, the scrolls containing the names of the victims of the atomic bombing are taken from the registry shelf in the Remembrance Hall and brought here to be aired out.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"notice\"><\/a>Regarding photography at the Memorial Hall<\/h3>\n<p class=\"notautocentering\">Unless there is a sign specifically prohibiting photography or filming, pictures or video may be taken for personal reasons. (No application forms are necessary.) However, photographs or video may not be taken of display items which show specific individuals, such as pictures of deceased atomic bombing victims. Furthermore, tripods, flashes and other equipment which may impede the viewing of others are not allowed.<br \/>\nAny reproduction or distribution of photographs or video for commercial purposes is not permitted.
