Wanting to Preserve Memories of that Day: Dictated Accounts of the Atomic Bombing
The 10th Special Exhibition: Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing

In order to convey the tragic nature of the atomic bombing to a wide variety of people, the Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims stages special exhibitions in which memoirs from our collection are selected according to a specific theme.
The 10th special exhibition, Wanting to Preserve Memories of that Day: Dictated Accounts of the Atomic Bombing, introduced accounts collected last year during a Memorial Hall project to interview bombing survivors and provide dictation services.
As part of measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, this exhibition was posted on our homepage instead of being held at the Memorial Hall. Accounts by five individuals were posted one at a time during the period between Sunday, August 9 and Wednesday, December 9.
In order to provide people in other countries with an understanding of the realities of the atomic bombing damages, the accounts of these five bombing survivors have been translated into English, Chinese and Korean. We will be greatly pleased if you would take a look at them.
